Kirill Martynov

Kirill Martynov was born in 1981. He graduated at Moscow University and holds a PhD in Philosophy. In 2007-2020, he was an associate professor at the Higher School of Economics. In 2020, after being dismissed from the university for political reasons, he founded, along with other professors, the Free University of Moscow. Since 2014, he has been editor of Novaya Gazeta. Since 2019, first deputy editor-in-chief Dmitry Muratov. After the closure of the newspaper in Russia in April 2022, founder and editor-in-chief of the Novaya Gazeta Europe.
